BEIJING, CHINA (GaeaTimes.com)- The China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME), one of the topmost industrial groups in China has requested the European Union to look into the matter of all the IT firms in the country following an investigation by the EU into the companies which manufacture wireless modems inside the Asian country. Wang Guiqing, the Vice President of the CCCME is of the opinion that this investigation by the EU and its results will heavily impact not only the Chinese economy but will also hinder the progress of science and technology throughout the world in general.

This recent probe by the European Union which has led to an anti-dumping policy of wireless modems exported by China, is being considered by many as one of the biggest investigations undertaken by the EU in the field of exported Chinese technology-based goods. The investigation involves not only wireless modems but also all devices which make use of radio antennas and help people to access the internet wirelessly.

A complaint lodged by Option NV, a company based in Belgium in Europe, which is the sole manufacturer of such wireless products in the entire European continent, prompted the European Union to conduct the investigation. Now that the country has been forced to follow the anti-dumping policy for wireless modems, the Chinese government is trying to seek the help of the World Trade Organization and abide by its rules to arrive at a conclusion favorable for the country and its people. The recent investigation puts into jeopardy technological goods worth more than $4billion.
