How To Update To Firefox 2.0.x in Fedora Core / Linux

Fedora Core 6 ships with Firefox 1.5.x version. Firefox 2.0.x is currently in development repository of Fedora Core 6. So the command to update to Firefox 2.0.x browser is:

yum -y ––enablerepo=development update firefox

It also updates fedora-bookmarks and yelp. At around 21M it is a must upgrade. The current version as of today is 2.0.0.3-4.

WordPress (%$#%), in its infinite wisdom, eats one dash when there are two dashes as you can also see in your comment. Thanks for pointing it out.

I have corrected it by using - instead of plain dash.

The command is given incorrectly, or at least it copies incorrectly if you highlight it and right-click copy.
The correct command is:

yum -y –enablerepo=development update firefox

For some reason the 2 dashes in front of enablerepo doesn’t copy correctly. Thought there might be a fellow noob out there who also struggles with it.
