Is SplogSplot (Splog Detection Site) Dead?… I Hope Not

SplogSpot is service that keeps track of spam blogs or Splogs. The splogspot spam database can be queried by using the SplogSpot API. A nice idea. Is the service appears to be dead since March 2007?

The recently updated splog dump from SplogSpot has the latest entry from 20th March 2007:

Casino Club Las Vegas - 07:45 pm 20/03/2007 GMT

Even the API doesn’t appear to be functioning. When I check the first url in the recently updated dump ( https://splogspot.com/api?url=https://www.casinoclublasvegas.com/ ), it shows it as non-splog. Checking first few entries gives the same results.

The weekly splog dump directory doesn’t have any data either.

Any idea on the state of SplogSpot? I would be willing to take up this thankless job if the original owner is not able to devote the time.

Splogs are the scourge of the blogsphere! I certainly hope Splogspot isn’t dead, or if it is I hope someone will start a similar service!
