NEW DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Maruti Suzuki India is gearing up to meet the increasing competition in the Indian car market. Especially the entry and emergence of the global players like Ford, GM and Hyundai are piling the pressure on the carmaker which commands a major part of the Indian market. It is planning to launch new models and also aiming to relaunch the popular existing models in new variants. Apart from that it also has plans to launch more eco friendly CNG versions of its popular models. The Swift which is one of its best selling models in India is going to be re launched with new interiors and added features.

The new Swift from Maruti Suzuki will not look very different from the existing version but it will reportedly have a revamped interior. It will be longer than the present model according to the reports. Maruti Suzuki has paid attention to make the new car more comfortable for the rear passengers. The new Swift will also be priced competitively. It may retain the advanced 1.3 L diesel version engine. The version was supposed to be released next year but the company wants to release it this year to counter the threat from the models from rival companies.

Apart from revamping the Swift Maruti Suzuki is looking at the emerging but nascent eco friendly car segment. It is not launching a fresh CNG model but planning to launch CNG versions of its best selling models. Models like SX4, Alto and Wagon R will get CNG versions soon. The company is also launching cars that run on both LPG and Petrol.
