SAN FRANCISCO (GaeaTimes.com)- Over the years the popularity of the online dating and matchmaking sites has grown tremendously. There are a lot of people who depend on the sites for searching like minded friends and people with different sexual orientations use these sites extensively. The result however is mixed. In some cases people do find their soul mates or friends they can bond with. On the other hand several instances have been reported when malicious users duped others in the guise of someone else. Therefore some users are skeptical of relying on these online dating sites. OkCupid is one of the most widely used dating sites and it has come up with a search segregation policy that has grabbed attentions lately.

The site OkCupid sent a notice to the users and informed them that from now the good looking users will only find similar people in their searches and the less attractive users will not appear in their searches. This will be applicable to both men and women and include people with various types of sexual orientations. However, the site has not explained how it will sort out the good looking users as it is possible to use fake images.

OkCupid users got an email in this subject lately and it took many of them by surprise. The attractive users can still search the kind of people they like but by default the site will recommend good looking people to them. As one can understand the less good looking people are not exactly happy with this new development. They think it is unfair to the less attractive users.
