Samsung CD ROM Drive: Worst Buy

I have 5 PC’s equipped with Samsung 52X (Max) CD-ROM Drives for around 2 years. It was a horrible mistake to make. This is my list of troubles with them. Read on before you make a purchasing decision with this crappy product.

Machine 1: CD-ROM Drive doesn’t work.
Machine 2: Works only when it feels like; doesn’t recognize most CD’s
Machine 3: Partially working
All Machines:
The CD’s become extremely HOT after being in drive for even 10 minutes. I have lost several CD’s due to Samsung drives. They literally burn them to oblivion.

There are minor irritants like they produce noises which makes you feel something bad is happening to your CD’s and it actually happens.

Benefits: The best benefit of using Samsung drives is after your CD’s have been burnt and rendered useless. You can use them to keep your coffee warm. Just cover your mug with your shiny new coaster (aka just-dead CD).

To summarize: Never buy Samsung CD-ROM drives. Don’t use them if they are given to you as presents, unless you want to make few shiny coasters.

PS. I will replace my Samsung CD-ROM drives with LG drives. I will let you know how it goes.
