Top 6 Reasons Not To Buy iPhone (Beta?)

Here are 6 legitimate reasons why you wouldn’t want to buy an iPhone:

6. You hate Steve Jobs and / or Apple fanatics.
5. You prefer longer talk time.
4. You need the quiet and solitude that comes with less connectivity.
3. You value your eyesight and don’t want to waste it reading New York Times on iPhone
2. You want to be different and chose Blackberry instead
1. Wait till someone presents it to you; Christmas / Hanukkah isn’t too far off

My personal reason is none of the above. I simply don’t have much use for it. I lead a very simple life; not the Paris Hilton kind of Simple Life.

Problems with iPhone (beta?)
There are genuine concerns with Apple’s iPhone. In the initial review Dave Winer finds the safari web browser generally unusable and web sites need CSS adjustment to work great with iPhones. Dan Gillmore justifies why iPhone is just a beta product. He points out the lock-in with AT&T service, usability issues with (password protected)wifi setup, SMS typing, lack of IM service, non-removable battery with few hundred charge cycles only and more.

iPhone in India
Officially iPhone launch in India will take at least another year. However there is speculation that the unlocked version will be soon available in the grey market for Rs. 30, 000 or less. Also the phones can be easily unlocked for Rs. 1000 or less, if you can procure it from US, so it can be used with any GSM network in India like Airtel or Hutch.

Apple is superior when it comes to design and functionality. That’s the main reason I’m are going to get one. Also it allows me to post to my blog from my iphone. Very good!
