KB Home, Google, PMI Group are big movers

NEW YORK — Stocks that moved substantially or traded heavily Tuesday on the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq Stock Market:

PMI Group Inc., up 50 cents at $3.64

The mortgage insurer said its subsidiary received approval from Freddie Mac to be a direct issuer of mortgage guaranty insurance.

KB Home, down 29 cents at $17.15

The homebuilder said new home orders rose 5 percent in its first quarter and its loss narrowed, but results fell short of analyst expectations.

Triumph Group Inc., up $6.30 at $67.52

The aircraft parts company will buy aircraft supplier Vought Aircraft Industries Inc. for $525 million to expand its offerings.

Graham Packaging Co., up 55 cents at $12.37

At least three investment analysts launched coverage of the maker of bottles and other customized plastic containers with top ratings.

Leap Wireless International Inc., up 68 cents at $17.05

The carrier is eliminating roaming fees for its Cricket contract-free wireless service, enhancing service in the competitive prepaid market.

Integrated Silicon Solution Inc., up $1.09 at $8.58

The chip designer lifted its guidance for the current quarter, saying pricing has been better than expected as demand improves.

Oncothyreon Inc., down $1.29 at $3.49

All clinical trials of the biotechnology company’s lead drug candidate were temporarily suspended because of potential safety issues.

Google Inc., down $8.50 at $549

The Chinese government condemned the Web search company’s partial withdrawal from China, while an EU ruling may limit the company’s ads.
