Marvell buys DS2 for undisclosed amount

SAN FRANCISCO — Chip maker Marvell Technology Group Ltd. said Thursday that it purchased Diseno de Sistemas en Silico SA, or DS2, for an undisclosed amount.

DS2, which makes chips that are used for digital content streaming, is based in Valencia, Spain.

Marvell said it will keep selling DS2 products and will also fold DS2’s technology into its own portfolio.
