Great news for Windows enthusiast. The public beta version of Windows 7 is all set for a grand release come Friday, January 9, 2009. The exciting announcement was made by Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer at his keynote address in 2009 Internet Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The beta version would be available for download worldwide with an authentic product key. Rush for the download. The Windows 7 Beta would be available for download-only (no-physical media ) on a first come first serve basis.

Windows 7 Beta would be available for limited period of time, and only the first 2.5 million would be able to download the beta version. Also take into account that the Windows 7 Beta would expire on August 1, 2009. To download the Windows 7 Beta you need to log on to Windows.com.

For those who already having the leaked Windows 7 build 7000 that expires on July 1, 2009 can wait for a surprise. Hopefully not the build 7000 again.

Having said that, who knows the first public beta of Windows 7 might include the build version of 7000. But with different expiry dates I assume there is more to it than the other leaked versions of Windows 7. Rest assured, we will wait and follow. What about you?
