Technopark ties up with Beijing Software Park (Business Capsule)

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM - City-based information technology park Technopark has signed a cooperation agreement with China’s Beijing Zhongguancun Software Park Co (Zpark), it was announced here Tuesday.

Under the agreement, the two parks will join hands in business process outsoucring (BPO), software exports and training sectors in major markets like China, Japan, South Korea, the US and Europe, Technopark said in a statement.

The agreement was signed Monday in China by Technopark chief executive Mervin Alexander and Zpark director Zhou Fang.

GAIL inks deal with Hindustan Oil

New Delhi: State-run Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL) has signed a 15-year gas sourcing agreement with Hindustan Oil Exploration Co (HOEC) to supply fuel to a power plant in Tamil Nadu, the company said Tuesday.

GAIL had earlier entered into long-term contract with PMT consortium for gas supply for its projects.

Tata’s solution for clean Internet traffic

New Delhi: Tata Communications Tuesday launched Internet Clean Pipe Solution for the small and medium business segments that will ensure clean Internet traffic.

The solution can eliminate malware, spam and viruses without the customer having to incur additional expenditure on security hardware, the company said in a statement.

The service will utilise a network based on a Fortinet Unified Threat Management device that includes anti-virus, anti-spam, anti-spyware, intrusion prevention and web filtering capabilities, under which the Internet traffic is checked for vulnerabilities before it enters the customer’s premise.

NIIT bags Cybermedia award

New Delhi: IT training institute NIIT has been honoured with the “Top Training Company Award 2009″ by Cybermedia, publisher of a number of IT magazines.

We are really pleased to receive this award and that shows our efforts to improve and bring about innovative solutions in IT training have been acknowledged across the industry, said P. Rajendran, chief operating officer NIIT.

NIIT had reported a revenue of Rs.1,148 crore in 2008-09, with 30 percent of the total IT education market share in India.

Sanjiv Goenka new president of Management Association

Kolkata: All India Management Association (AIMA), an apex forum of management, has appointed Sanjiv Goenka, vice-chairman of RPG Enterprises, the new president.

Gautam Thapar, chairman and chief executive of the diversified Thapar Group, was elected the senior vice-president and Rajiv Vastupal, chairman of Rajiv Petrochemicals Ltd, was selected vice-president.

Max India Ltd director P. Dwarkanath took over as the new treasurer.

Nathpa Jhakri unit generates record power

New Delhi: The Nathpa Jhakri hydropower project in Himachal Pradesh, run by the state-owned Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam Ltd (SJVNL), surpassed generation of 5,000 million units of electricity Sep 21, the company said Tuesday.

This record power generation has been achieved 15 days ahead as compared to last year,” SJVNL said in a statement.

According to SJVNL, this record generation is due to excellent management of silt, water and machines both in terms of operation and maintenance of the hydropower station.

The two giants together will be unbreakable. China is already one of the best in what software development is concerned and needs the opening markets technopark has.
