Bank of America said yesterday that it had lost computer backup tapes containing personal information about 1.2 million federal employees, including some senators, with Visa charge cards issued by the bank. The tapes were lost in shipment. I am not so sure how the spokeswoman for Bank of America, Alexandra Trower, feels so confident that the information was not stolen. There may not be any fraud instances yet as they say but that is no guarantee. I had better hopes from Bank Of America. Why aren't they acccepting the consequence and changing all the accounts?
