Angsuman's Permanent Redirector Plugin Overview This plugin allows you to redirect (permanent redirect using HTTP status 301) any of your posts or pages to a different URL. This enables you to transfer Google rank of your post or page (static page of WordPress) to a new page. Also the new page is displayed in search (Yahoo, Google, MSN etc.) results. This is valuable when you want to permanently move one or more of your posts or pages to a new location. The post/page content is not altered. No configuration is required. Even your GrandMother can use it. Compatibility Works on 1.5.x & 2.0 codebase. Update For some users the plugin wasn't directly redirecting but bringing up an intermediate page. Brian found a solution to this issue. The plugin has been updated with Brian's fix. If you are facing this problem then you are strongly encouraged to download the new version. Otherwise you may continue with your existing version.
Ben Galbraith has created an innovative website with *nix shell theme. He follows the *nix everywhere. The site is javascript driven. It wouldn't do wonders for your SERP but with such cool factor who cares?
All the comment spam plugins of the world do not protect you against spams which are written by humans. No amount of comment spam prevention plugins or .htaccess tricks protect you against them. So how do you fight when humans write the spam themselves instead of bots? In this article I first discuss the more common ways of fighting such spams. I also bring forward a highly effective measure which I have not found discussed anywhere.
Pheedo, Ad Publishing Network, appears to be down. The website is still up and you can login. However there is absolutely no communication from the team about click stats, no advertiser on the website etc. Everything is very very silent. After repeated emails to Founder as well as to Carol in Publisher Relations, I am still waiting to hear anything from them for several days if not weeks.
WordPress is a very popular personal publishing platform aka blogging platform (with a primitive CMS) in use all over the web. There are a number of serious security vulnerabilities in WordPress that may allow an attacker to ultimately run arbitrary code on the vulnerable system. Unfortunately the authors believe in security-by-obscurity. Here are the details. The vulnerabilities include "SQL Injection", "Cross Site Scripting", "Remote Code Execution", "Forgotten Password Security Issues" and also issues that may aid an attacker in social engineering like "Full Path Disclosure". An updated version of WordPress (version 1.5.1.3) is available (automatic patch upgrade from WordPress 1.5.1.2 to 1.5.1.3) and users are strongly advised to upgrade immediately.
