I found this hilarious blog entry (in present context) by Marc Fleury, CEO JBoss, against RedHat via Blogging Roller site. He adorns RedHat with some choice epithets which I am sure he wouldn't like to be reminded in present context. So understandably his blog has been sanitized but Google cache isn't so kind. Marc Fleury Versus RedHat Some interesting quotes from Marc Fleury: "RH is a PACKAGER, not a technology house. How do they DARE call SUN on technology innovation."
The beauty about Java community is that they never shy of creating yet another framework for any new / good idea. You have seen dozens (or more) of dependency injection (IoC) frameworks. It has happened again. Rails has not one, not two but three competitors.
I am very happy for JBoss. Redhat has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire JBoss. This is sure to have long ranging implications for Java / J2EE adoption on Linux.
Why did Apple, after all these years, finally decide to support Windows on their machines? It is surely not because they have grown a friendship with Microsoft. As Bootcamp website stated: "More and more people are buying and loving Macs. To make this choice simply irresistible, Apple will include technology in the next major release of Mac OS X, Leopard, that lets you install and run the Windows XP operating system on your Mac."
Hardlinks and symbolic links are common to Unix / Linux / Solaris file systems. However they are not normally available under windows. The NTFS filesystem of Windows NT4 / W2K / WXP / WXP64 supports HardLink functionality, but HardLinks can only be created via the POSIX command ln, which is shipped with the Windows resourcekit. Windows resource kit is not freely available. Also hardLinks can only be created via the command prompt, which is hard for many and cumbersome for multiple files. Fortunately for you there are several free tools available to solve your problem.
