GENEVA (GaeaTimes.com)- Considered as the largest auto show of the world, the Geneva auto show sees the unveiling of several top notch and much awaited car models each year. The recently held 2010 car show was no exception. This year’s show was inaugurated on March 4th and it was closed on March 14th. As one can expect, the models from leading carmakers of the world were unveiled at the event and there were brands like Nissan, Audi, Ferrari and Porsche among others. However, in sports car categories, the head turner was the Alfa Romeo Pandion concept car. The model has the looks of the futuristic vehicles that we see in latest Sci-fi flicks.
With the Alfa Romeo Pandion concept, the company celebrates its 100th year in the industry. The car has been designed by Italian design house Bertone. The name of the car refers to a predator bird that is known for its especially long wings. The car has rear hinged doors that are extremely tall and opens in a wing flapping manner. The engine is the same that is used in the Maserati GranTurismo platform. The front of the Pandion looks somewhat menacing owing to its beak like style. The rear part is composed of a number of sharp parts that makes it look like it would explode in any moment!
The car is likely to be lapped up by the sports car enthusiasts who do not care much about price. Alfa Romeo Pandion concept has top notch safety mechanisms in place, as is claimed by the company.
