In Linux wine (or crossover office if you like to pay) is used to execute Windows applications.
I tried installing Thunderbird 2 from Fedora Core 6 Development Respository, the file actually belongs to currently in development Fedora 10.
Login as or su to root and run:
yum -y install pcre zlib lighttpd
That's it folks!
Note: The -y saves you from ok'ing the download & installation.
