SAN FRANCISCO (GaeaTimes.com)- With time, the auto industry is focusing on cars that cause less pollution and offers simplified mode of transport. 2010 is a year that is going to see a number of eco-friendly and easy to use vehicles releasing in the market. The hybrids as well as the electric cars are slowly making inroads in the mass market and the car industry veterans are hopeful about their future. The trend is likely to seep in the commercial vehicles as well. The latest futuristic car that is making a wave in the web already is the Air Car, also called the Air Pod. It is a small sized car that has a distinctive appearance. As per the latest news, the Air Car will be made commercially available this year, though the exact timing is not known. The car is meant for use in urban places.
Air France, KLM and some other big names have expressed their interest in the Air Car. It can house 3 people. The car runs on three wheels and two of them are at the rear part of the car. What makes the Air Pod different from the other compact cars is the way it offers the passenger’s way to enter into the vehicle.
The driver needs to use the windshield of the vehicle to enter. As if it is not amazing enough, the two passengers need to use the car’s rear window. This is something one may not find in any other car. Funnily enough, the Air Car does not have a steering wheel. It has got a joystick as a replacement. The final price has not yet been decided.
