NEW DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The war among the cellular service providers in India is getting more intense with time and as new operators are entering the market, the old time players are adopting new strategies to woo the new users and retain the existing ones. The cellular network providers have brought down the call tariff to seriously low limits and they all offer attractive rate cutter packs nowadays. Therefore, some of them are switching to all new selling tactics to capture hitherto untapped markets. Earlier Vodafone started selling GSM phones under its brand name. Aircel, which is a reputed cellular service provider, has rolled its handsets recently under the INQ brand name.
Aircel has started selling smart phones which are made by INQ, a subsidiary of Hutchison Whampoa. The phones are going to be sold from the existing outlets of Aircel all over India. To make the phones appeal to the mass popular, the company is using cricketer M.S. Dhoni, as its brand ambassador. New ad campaigns featuring the cricketer are already being shown on TV channels. The popularity of the smart phones having social networking applications has compelled Aircel to adopt this move. INQ is well-known for its Facebook focused phones.
Aircel INQ handsets have been priced aggressively to woo the young users. The Mini and Chat models come with 3G. They also offer support for Orkut and Twitter, as these are also very popular in India. The INQ Chat with its QWERTY keypad will appeal to the messaging freaks. Aircel is also offering introductory talk plans with both the handsets.
