NEW DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The demand for the Smart phones in Indian Market has grown up considerably in the last two years and every leading mobile network provider is seen tying up with the reputed handset makers like RIM and HTC. However, there is a flip side of using the smart phones for browsing the internet and checking e mails. There are a lot of malicious sites in the web that target the computers that are not protected enough. These sites can also send malicious codes to the smart phones which can wreck havoc with its OS. To cater to this problem faced by the Smartphone users Airtel India is offering a security solution for its customers. The Airtel subscribers who use sets like the HTC Smart can avail of this offer. The solution is Norton Smartphone Security which is being offered by Airtel in collaboration with Symantec, a top notch antivirus and internet security firm.

The Airtel India customers can access this solution through Airtel Live, the WAP market place. The application will not only protect the mobile users from getting into malicious sites but it will also prevent spam mails from getting into their inbox. It will be available for the Airtel users who use either Symbian OS based models or Windows mobile based devices. It is not known whether the applications will be compliant with those handsets that use Google Android or any other type of OS.

Airtel India is trying to offer its customers several value added services and the smart phone security is one of them. It is catered more to the corporate users.

I find that the iPhone is fantastic with all these little apps, being able to do pretty much everything on the move is fantastic. You can attend to pretty much anything, anywhere, anytime! The future has arrived and I love it! :)
