Delhi Is Preparing For Global Cars

Delhi, India (GaeaTimes.com)- India is being considered by the car majors as the viable destination in recent times. That explains why car companies like GM, Ford, Honda, Suzuki and Nissan are planning to release some of their upcoming models in the Indian car market. Delhi, the capital of India is targeted by the companies as it has a rich urban population that is immensely interested in acquiring new generation cars. For most of the urban car buyers of Delhi, money is not a bar if they can get the latest models. It is quite true that Delhi is preparing for Global Cars. The upcoming Delhi Auto Expo is a much anticipated event that will showcase some of the latest cars from companies like Toyota, Suzuki and Honda.
While the demand for luxury Sedans and SUV cars have gone up in Delhi and other parts of India, the auto expo will set its focus on small compact cars. After the launch of the much touted Tata Nano, a lot of two wheeler users are pondering about upgrading to small cars and the car makers do not want to let this opportunity go. Maruti Suzuki, which sells maximum cars in India, will launch its futuristic family car Eeco. Toyota will showcase its hybrid car and an entry level family car, which is yet to be named. This proves that Delhi is preparing for Global Cars.
GM, after surviving the bankruptcy debacle has geared up to capture the Indian market and it will present some cars under its Chevrolet brand. The hybrid Volt will be its trump card in Delhi, which is preparing for Global Cars.

Delhi in 2003 won the US Department of Energy’s first Clean Cities International Partner of the Year award for “bold efforts to curb air pollution and support alternative fuel initiatives. This came after the city administration drove polluting industries out, compelled truck and bus operators to switch to compressed natural gas and banned trishaws and taxicabs older than 15 years. |
