Detroit Auto Show 2010: Update

DETROIT (GaeaTimes.com)- The Detroit Auto show for the year 2010 started today and the updates have all been provided here. Ford Motor Co. walked away with the North American Car and Truck Awards (2010) that was given out today. The motor company has now become the third participant to have walk away with both the titles in the award’s history of 17 years. The Ford fusion Hybrid was named the car of the year whereas the truck of the year was awarded to Ford Transit Connect. These awards were decided by a jury of 50 automotive journalist belonging to the Unites States Of America and Canada.
The Detroit Auto Show for 2010 had a great opening day and according to updates, the whole show will be packing a punch. However, according to sources, the auto-show has now started slacking off and reportedly has “less of everything”. Traditionally, the auto-show generally starts on Sundays. However, this time this tradition was discontinued with the show even scheduled for just two days instead of its usual time period of three.
The Detroit Auto show has always been a crowd attractor, and the one in 2010 has been no different thanks to all the motor-geeks. General Motor’s new toy GMC Granite was given a lot of attention as it was showcased at the Auto show. Experts claim, that the company has build the new urban utility vehicle as a competition to all the other UUV. Volkswagen was not far behind having brought their new NCC or New Compact Coupe Hybrid with them for its grand debut. With the auto show scheduled for tomorrow too, keep an eye open for all the tech-updates.

Auto show, or motor show, is an exhibition of current automobile models, debuts, concept cars, or out-of-production classics. It is commonly attended by automobile manufacturers.
