MISSOURI (GaeaTimes.com)- The web users who use the popular Internet search engine Google need no introduction about doodles. The doodles are the logos that the company puts on its home page from time to time. They are changed to commemorate certain occasions. Usually, the doodles are static though a few days back Google put an animated doodle to celebrate the 30th anniversary of a popular game named Pac Man. Google announced its annual Doodle 4 Google competition in February this year and the theme selected for this contest was ‘If I Could Do Anything, I would’. At that time Google said that it will put the best doodle on its page for 24 hours. The result of the contest is out now and the winner is a third grader student from Missouri.

Makenzie Melton, a 9 year old student from a school in Missouri has been selected by the internet search giant as the winner for this contest. The resident of El Dorado Springs has picked Rainforest Habitat as the theme of the doodle created by her. The response to the contest was overwhelming, according to Google. More than 33000 doodles were submitted to the company as it has reported. Makenzie Melton the winner of 2010 Doodle 4 Google contest is going to get a $15,000 college scholarship with a netbook computer. Her school is also going to get a grant for computer lab worth $25000.

The student who has emerged as the topper in this year’s Doodle 4 Google contest is environment conscious. She said that rainforest habitats are endangered these days and they need to be saved.
