Ford Figo Launched

NEW DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- Automaker Ford has launched its small car Figo in India on Tuesday, which marked the U.S. automaker’s entry into the profitable small car market of India. The company had earlier revealed that the Ford Figo launch was the first venture of the carmaker in the Indian car industry, while it is all set to roll out products in various segments within every few months gap.
The Ford Figo launch was being eagerly awaited by the consumers, mainly owing to the widespread hype created by the automaker prior to its official release. At the same time, the anticipation was also immensely high as the vehicle is the first car designed and priced by the company specifically for the mass Indian market. The much anticipated small car Figo, which has been priced at Rs. 3.5-4.48 lakh is likely to give a tough competition to the other leading global car makers such as General Motors Co., Hyundai Motor Co. Limited as well as Volkswagen AG, which has recently launched Polo.
Meanwhile, at a press conference to announce the launch of Figo, Ford India President and Managing Director Michael Boneham emphasized that the small car was aptly suited to cater to the needs of the Indian consumers. Moreover, the managing director also added that the Michigan based company intends to launch a new vehicle in every 12 to 18 months and reiterated that Figo was the right product at the perfect price point for the automaker. Moreover, Ford officials also revealed that it plans to export Figo to countries across the globe, beginning with South Africa later this year.
