Google’s revolutionary road to place ads in pre-search recommendation: Analysis and assumptions

The secret of success and upward growth for a company depends upon two primordial factors

  1. How qualitatively rich you are.
  2. How you can monetize your business.

While the first point will not even wink at the wrong place because its Google (we have seen week after week, how Google doesn’t even smell complacency and goes on mercilessly towards perfection or producing new features and products), we have always admired Google’s way of squeezing the hell out of all the available places to monetize with advertisements. The best part is, you don’t feel particularly annoyed even with their desperation to feed you with ads because it never pushes you to itself. Its just there. Take it or leave it.

google ad recommendation

This time around, the big G it seems is going for advertisements on a pre-search. You get ads on search box recommendation just as you see in the picture. But its just not official yet. We will have to see if its just an innocent recommendation or a step towards pre-search ad option. Let’s look at why it can be so beneficial if implemented.

Its amazing because, now there are so many nails that Google can hit on every user’s head, politely.

  1. You just can’t overlook an ad now. If you are to search, you are to bump into an ad.
  2. Ads in recommendation can be more diverse coz its not exactly specific to the exact word you are typing. But, it can actually show multiple ads while you type on a single query!
  3. With this, Google almost discovers a twin of post-search advertisement markets! Imagine this, they can just double their ad exposure capability!
  4. Then of course they will have premium rates (for advertisers wishing to feature in the pre-search ad visibility region) because the chances of clicking on an ad for a person who is unsure of where to go exactly (remember the primary reason for which we ‘search‘) will be much higher.

So is it only WoW?

Not at all. I am sure there will be people who will just hate this feature of seeing an ad every time they search in google box. I for one, didn’t like it at all. I won’t like my recommendations to be flooded with meaningless links (oh context sensitive and what crap, I don’t buy that logic. I haven’t ever found a single ad to be of my use, but its just me).

But sure its another succor punch from the clever Google marketing team to see how people react to the non-profitable similar model now. We will have to see how Google goes about it and if they implement it at all.  However, it is for sure that this promises a lot of potential in the world of online advertisements.
