Honda Airbag Recall: Honda Recalls Another 4,38,000 Cars
By Ronee, Gaea News NetworkWednesday, February 10, 2010
JAPAN (GaeaTimes.com)- Honda, the Japanese automaker is going to recall another 4,38,000 cars after faulty airbags were detected in its Accord, Civic, Pilot, CL, CR-V and some Acura TL models of 2001 and 2002. It is reported that these models were cause of death of one person in the United States and almost 11 injuries. The inflator mechanism inserted pressure and caused metal fragments to pass through the air bag. Honda reportedly announced its first recall in November 2008. They further extended it in July 2009. The total number of cars which are going to be recalled is almost 8,26,000.
It has been reported that Honda has recalled the expansion in order to ensure that all owners of these vehicles take their cars to authorized dealers when they are reported from Honda that their vehicles are affected. The company further added that the notification will start in this month itself. According to some, the recall will highly hamper the reputation of the Japanese automakers. Toyota had to recall thousands of vehicles for faulty cars. Akio Toyoda reportedly had to apologize twice this month for problems with their cars. Honda also had to recall thousands of vehicles which started from last year and is still continuing with 4,38,000 cars being recalled for problems with airbags.
The problems with the cars are unnecessary harassment for people who own cars of this brand. This will also hamper the reputation of its vehicles. There is expected to be a fall in the number of car purchase for its faulty airbags. Another 4,38,000 car recalls are going to be carried out.

Oh, that’s a great number of cars to be recalled. I bet it will cause them a lot of money. What if it will still be unsuccessful? It would really hamper the reputation of its vehicles. I hope it will be okay as soon as possible. |

Honda cars are believed to have good quality and designs but the recalls were quite discouraging. I love its designs but I would not risk my family’s safety. |

Not surprising. Over the last two decades, Japanese car manufacturers overtook domestic automakers in market share for cars, but the recalls are not going to help their cause. |
