Amongst the very few irreplacable products that Microsoft Windows have come up with, Microsoft Office 2007 is one very close to it. It has so many features and standardized options that I can not think openoffice as an alternative to it. While you may find it easy to download and install MS Office 2007 in Linux and use it with Wine just like any other Windows application we run inside Linux there may arise some problems while running the MS Office 2007. How to Install and Use Microsoft Office 2007 inside Linux
- Install latest version of Wine.
[How to Install Wine] - Now go to the folder where the setup file for Microsoft Office exists.
- Double click on the .exe file.
- The Office installer will pop up, provide the usual password and let the installation begin.
>So you are done with the process. Yippie! You can run MS Office 2007 in your Linux.
How to Get Rid of Ugly Crossbars in Office Documents
As soon as you start using it you will face a problem straight away.You will find ugly crossbars in the Word document while viewing it from your Linux OS. So what should you do? Well its pretty simple too.
- Go to the Office button -> Word Options -> Advanced -> Show document content
- Uncheck Show crop marks.
And now you will find the ugly crossbars gone.
