LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- The numerous virtual world residents have got an opportunity to find love in real life. This is courtesy IMVU, which is a blend of virtual world and social network. It will enable the users to interact by means of cool looking 3D avatars. On Thursday it announced of its collaboration with a dating site named Zoosk. The latter integrates dating with social networking. The collaboration is valid for one year as per the agreement. The Zoosk members will be able to sue a link provided by IMVU. However, one needs t be above 18 years in order to use this service.
It is quite evident that both Zoosk and IMVU are keen on expanding their user base. They have agreed for sharing the revenue as well. This collaboration will add new dimension to the experience of the Zoosk users. There are not many services that offer a similar experience. However, with the craze for 3D the new concept just might catch up with people. There are quite a number of social networking services and a different experience is likely to find more users.
The service of Zoosk was launched three years back. It has 12 million users as of now. The user base of IMVU is much more and with this partnership it is expecting to see a rise in membership. It started its service in 2004. If the experiment turns out to be successful the companies may opt for the extension of the contract. However, the amount of success is hard to predict.
