SAN FRANCISCO (GaeaTimes.com)- It is quite commonplace for the US users of Apple iPhone to suffer from average network service provided by AT&T. The 3G network of the company has often drawn the flak of the irate users who complain of inconsistent performance of its network. They can now avail third party iPhone application that will offer them an alternate choice and freedom from shoddy network. The application has been created by Toktumi and its name is Line2 App. This offers a second phone line to the existing iPhone users who rely on AT&T network for communication and data usage. Peter Sisson, the CEO and founder of the company is of the opinion that with this application the iPhone users will be able to save a lot on their phone bills. The application enables the users to utilize Wi-Fi and 3G network and treats it as second line.
However, the USP of the Line2 App is that it can convert an iPod Touch into a cell phone. Incredible as it may sound to some, the application takes advantage of the Wi-Fi support of the iPod Touch and uses Internet for voice calling. For the first one month, the application can be used for free after which a monthly charge of $14.95 is applied. The application costs merely $1 and now the iPhone users can download it from the Apple App store.
The Line2 App is similar to Skype but it has more features for sure. It also supports latest features like conferencing, visual voicemail etc. The app is likely to be lapped up by iPhone users.
