WASHINGTON (GaeaTimes.com)- Coming August will see an increase in the price of an internet modem, announced Walter Neary, the spokesman for the Comcast Internet Services. While the standard rise for all customers will be an increase of $2, the users of only the Comcast high-speed Internet service will have to shell out an additional extra dollar for purchasing a modem says reports.
Not only is the price of a modem increasing, the Comcast cable television price will also go up from the 1st of August this year by nearly a margin of 5%. So what is the reason for the sudden and unexpected rise in the price of a modem and a cable service? Speaking to the media, Walter Neary says that the competition these days between different corporate houses is very tough and therefore each house has to maintain a particular standard, and in order to maintain that level of standard and efficiency, the business houses have to adopt a different set of plans as well as devices and equipments and hire more efficient employees. All of this ultimately means that there will be extra expenditure on the part of the service providers. Therefore Walter Neary says that the increase in the price of the modem and their cable services is absolutely justified as this will only result in their customers getting a better service from the Comcast Group.
Comcast has a customer base of more than a million in the western parts of Washington and Spokane alone. Therefore it is expected that the increased modem and cable services prices will assure the common man of better service.
