CALIFORNIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The internet search engine giant Google has undergone a makeover, the eighth since its inception in 1998. The new Google look is the biggest face lift that the search giant has undertake since it was conceived, and is the most significant one too. The makeover has been undertaken keeping in mind the interests of the users. Besides, as analysts say, the makeover is also going to bring in greater revenues for the company, for the new layout is going to open up the option to the search engine to move into the realm of video and display advertising, as opposed to text based advertisements that it has been stuck to for so long.
The new layout is going to come with a whole new range of options for the users that would make it easier for them to find what they are looking for. The new page is going to have a range of navigation tools that are going to help the users search better and more smoothly. Moreover, there would also be other related links that the users would be able to search with. The search results are also going to be sorted, based on date and type. However, in order to ensure that the new Google look does not clutter up the page, the logo gets brighter and the entire page has been redesigned.
According to the analysts, the new Google look has been undertaken in order to compete with the rivals in the market, like Yahoo and Microsoft. These two search engines have been eating into the market share of Google considerably in the last few years. Moreover, Facebook has also recently surpassed Google as the most visited website.
