TOKYO, JAPAN (GaeaTimes.com)- Automaker Toyota has recalled its Prius models to deal with a braking problems that model is facing. According to sources, Prius, the car which is a symbol of efficient technology, and a green car has been showing a braking software malfunction. The problems were noticed mostly in the latest Prius models in Japan and the United States. Toyota Prius had hit the market in the year 1998. It promised that the vehicle would have almost zero emission levels. It was also said that Toyota Prius would appeal to the mass as it would provide fuel economy compared to other automobiles. Though the vehicle ensured fuel economy and minimum pollution, few Toyota Prius models has faulty brakes. Should one still buy Prius models? It would be best to think about some alternatives as increasing number of problems with Toyota models are coming up.

The automaker has revealed that out of the 133,000 Prius cars which were recalled to take care of the braking issues, an estimated 25,000 have already been repaired. According to reports, Toyota has also been confronting problems with the Toyota Lexus hybrid model. It has been stated that the dealers has also made floor mat modifications and have been able to handle the problems of 2,500 recalled cars. Toyota Prius, which is considered to be a symbol of green design, turned out to be the largest selling car in Japan last year.

Meanwhile, people who use the latest 2010 Prius models have supposedly added that when they press the brake, there is an inconsistent feel. The brakes take time to act. People who are willing to buy cars should probably think of alternatives and be conscious of buying Toyota Prius models, at least for the time being.
