Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez offers cheap gas to poor in U.S.
By Angsuman Chakraborty, Gaea News NetworkFriday, August 26, 2005
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, popular with the poor in Venezuela, offered on Tuesday to help needy Americans with cheap supplies of gasoline.
“We want to sell gasoline and heating fuel directly to poor communities in the United States,” the populist leader told reporters at the end of a visit to Communist-run Cuba.
Venezuelan state oil company PDVSA owns Citgo, which has 14,000 gas stations in the United States.

And popular evangelical minister Pat Robertson desperately wants to kill him. Why am I not surprised?

It seems to me that Chavez is the next Idi Amin.No doubt in a few years time we will naively be shocked at the atrocities he has perpetrated against his own people.Oh, we didn’t know will cry the UN,Paper Tigers again. His latest contribution to the OPEC parasites only shows his stupidity.WHEN WE WANT YOUR OIL WE WILL COME AND GET IT. The King of Spain is surely a wise man, hopefully the first voice of many.Without Oil chavez is just another corrupt South American dictator. Please pass on these thoughts to Mr.Chavez will my heartfelt hopes for a short and violent end to his regime Regards jim |

And one more thing! I’m starting to think that the Bush Regime Dictatorship has joined forces with Osama bin Laden to bring down America. Why else would the White House be stripping our constitution to shreds all the while ignoring the plight of its citizens. 200 billion on a war could have done a lot of good at home for a lot of needed social programs. By the way, why doesn’t Bush ever speak about Osama bin Laden anymore. He certainly isn’t in Iraq. I hate the little dick with the pathetic little wave he gives while in front of the cameras. What a total asshole. |

Someone needs to take the whole kit and caboodle, better known as the (The Bush Crime Cartel) out to the back 40 as they call it in Texas, and throw a little necktie party for every son-of-a-bitch associated with this pathetic little man acting as leader of our country |

Sr.Hugo Chavez, tienes todo lo que se requiere para ser un dictador al puro estilo de Porfirio Diaz en Mexico. Eres cobarde para empezar; tienes delirio de persecucion por parte de EE.UU. |

Dear President Chavez, I have much admiration for what you have accomplished in Venezuela and respect the work that I see you doing. I am a doctor of Chinese medicine (acupuncture and herbology as well as other natural healing modalities) and would like to visit your country and meet with someone in the medical community about the possibilities of utilizing this highly effective and inexpensive medicine to support the medical needs of your people. I wish you the greatest success in your grand endeavor. Most respectfully, Pamela Bellamy, L. Ac. |

Chavez and Castro are scumbags! They are both communists who try to lure the poor into thinking he is helping them with cheap gas or free medical care. Most of the poor dont have cars and you have to wait weeks to see a doctor under their healtcare system. Boycott Citgo gas!!!!!!!!!! |

I saw the interview with President Chavez and I have t say that I am impressed with the President. He seems to be a man of his word and is doing his best to help the poor of America. I don’t understand why people in America hate him. He is the first country to stand behind us and help us financially. England backs us up in fighting terrorism. Other than that what have other countries done for us? This man has a heart for the poor and I admire that. Now a days we are only concerned with filling our own pockets and the poor scrape by eating our trash and freezing to death. |

Steven, You don’t make any sense. Firstly I didn’t say anywhere that Chavez or Castro should run USA. However I do think that any sane person would be an improvement over Bush (including but not limited to Barrack Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton), but that’s topic for another day. Bible is just a book. It contains some wise words and some not so wise. If your entire logic is based on Bible then you are the one who is not only mistaken but dangerously delusional and in my book fundamentalists of any religion fall in the same category as Osama Bin Laden and Mullah Omar. > Evil, wicked, and violent leaders like Who is good and who is evil is mostly based on who is talking. For many million devout Muslims, Osama bin Laden is a holy personality and jihadi, with assured place in heaven. Devout Christians consider King Arthur and his merry band of crusaders to be fighters for religion and to be respected. For rest of the world they are merely a bunch of cannibal war mongering uncivilised brutes. > I hope you can see the error of you ways and ask for forgiveness of Jesus Christ. I am astounded by your arrogance. A significant number of the world population have no faith in Christ, if he even existed in the first place, and his ways. As far as I am concerned her is just a good person and also did some questionable things. I do not believe in the religion where people are eternally afraid of being damned and constantly have to ask for forgiveness. My relationship with God is that of love and only love. I don’t have to prove anything to Him. He knows everything I am doing, every step of the way. I do not live in the fear of hell, nor lust for the rewards of heaven. I seek neither for they are all transient. So I suggest you look for your potential converts elsewhere, weak-minded people you can hope of converting with your fear-psychosis. That “is your only hope”. And frankly have you considered that being a devout Christian you are destined to be in a Muslim hell (as you are not a devout Muslim and do not believe the ways of Allah) and miss all the virgin houris? That will save you all the trouble of trying to convert and getting a reserved seat in “heaven”, unless you commit millions of potential “sins” in your lifetime. |

To you who think Chavez or Castro should run the U.S.A. or that they are great leaders; I tell you that you are insane. This is not meant as a cheap insult, it is meant as fact! |

Have any of you supporters of Chavez actually listened to anything but that one immature lashing. He is worse than Bush, he can’t even rely on security from venezuela to protect him. This is just a ploy, his naive grand scheme to win support. I can’t even begin to start with some of these posts, come on people do some research before you spew words. Also, does anyone know of a forum where one can discuss topics such as these? Much appreciated |

We should have ONE real leader like Hugo Chavez or Fidel Castro in the United States! Because we lack balls, we have to build our image on our own weapons of mass destruction which, apparently, fine in “God’s” eyes because our president wears a little American flag on his lapel instead of a swastika on his arm! Does this make Bush a real man? I don’t think so! |

Hello, I just read the article where President Chavez offers cheap oil to the poor in America. I also noticed how he and President Castro offered to provide health care and train doctors to the poor for free. My first question is has anyone taken advantage of the offers and my second is: are they President Castro and President Chavez serious about these offers? If they are I would be willing to travel to Cararas to speak with President Chavez. I am a Black American and I have admired President Chavez’s courage to speak out against the atrocities that this administration has perpetrated against innocent people in the “name” of freedom. I look forward to your reply. Sincerely, Yahoshuah |
