DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- C-17 Globemaster III will be soon fulfilling a foreign army deal which shall witness India procuring 10 C-17 Globemaster III air machine from Boeing. In regards to the issue the American Defence Security Cooperation Agency have gone ahead to inform about the deal to the US Congress which shall have the final approval terms that are to be settled with this army deal.

In accordance to the notification announced by US Congressional agency, the C-17 Globemaster III deal holds a potential value of $5.8 billion. However, they have also declared that this is not the final price which is yet to be decided by the Ministry of Defence. Reportedly, the C-17 Globemaster III price shall include all of the cost incurred in training equipment, spare parts, maintenance personnel, training of aircrew, technical assistance, test equipment, engineering services and the ground support equipments. Timothy J. Roemer who happens to be the US ambassador to India said that the C-17 Globemaster III and its overall potential value is one asset that would not only strengthen India but also enhance the relationship in between the two nations.

C-17 Globemaster III shall be a replacement to the age old to IL- 76 aircraft. India had formerly asked for 20 such aircraft from Boeing. However, the finance commission was of the opinion that a purchase of 20 aircraft would be too expensive deal to consider and hence the number of C-17 Globemaster III was reduced to 10.

Reportedly, Indian Armed Forces shall employ C-17 Globemaster III to add the modern dash to India’s defense mechanism for all cargo works. C-17 Globemaster III shall also be a fine replacement to the Russian IL-76 fleet.
