NEW YORK (Gaeatimes.com) — All the controversies and illegal activities executed through Craigslist seems to cease now. The online classified network Craigslist has blocked its controversial Adult Sections portion from its website. Technology blog TechCrunch was the first to report the news of Craigslist Censored.
Bad news for those who surf this website regularly. As from now you will get to see a word ‘Censored’ written in black and white. Of late a lot of sex crimes is going on the websites and if Craigslist is involved in such crimes then it is really a big story. Craigslist has been under a lot of criticism for advertising prostitution, especially with underage girls.
Craigslist is a centralized network that features free classified advertisements. During the last few years this network is under several allegations that points out the fact that prostitution has become a booming business on Craigslist. A letter from the multi-state attorneys went to the CEO Jim Buckmaster and founder Craig Newmark demanding them to cease their ads. Finally it was shut down on Friday night. The services are not censored outside United States. Now the question arises will censorship of a website can actually eliminate all these illegal activities from the so-called legal society?
