Previously I described how to remove the Windows Genuine Advantage Notification Tool. It is a simple tool to get rid of the home calling of Windows Genuine Advantage notification tool. Obviously it also disables the regular “This copy of Microsoft Windows XP is not genuine” type warnings if it feels your copy of windows is not genuine. There is also a manual way to remove WGA notification tool available from internet -

I have a problem that probably has quite a simple solution though I have no clue what it may be. “Cannot delete WgaTray: Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use.” |

I’ve just removed all references of wgatray in my registry following Angusmans directions. Could someone please go though some sort of check list with me so I can be sure that it has worked and that I haven’t actually messed things up? Thanks- |

Remove Windows Genuine Advantage (Download Latest Version) This version removes cleanly both WGA Notification ‘Pilot’ version and ‘Final’ version, it should theoretically not be needed anymore to directly unload the WGA notification in live from memory and to risk a blue screen (BSOD)…. |
