SAN FRANCISCO (GaeaTimes.com)- A recently launched website named “I Write Like” is creating a buzz all over the internet with hoards of curious people and writers turning to the website to find out whom they write like. The website that has been created by a 27-year-old Russian software programmer Dmitry Chestnykh claims that it can find out the well-known writer to whose writing style your personal writing style bears similarity. Although not based on exact science it is driving millions of netizens towards it due to its sheer uniqueness.
As per reports, “I Write Like” has been designed by Dmitry Chestnykh following the model of general software for e-mail spam filters that take into account the keywords of the text. This means that “I Write Like” analyzes the text that is put for analysis on the basis of the choice of words by the writer. Therefore, even if you manage to pen down a paragraph following the Hemingwayesque sentence structure, it is the words you use that will determine the author you write like in the website.
The creator of “I Write Like” has reportedly said that he had created the website with an aim to make it an educational thing that will help people write better. Although it is yet not clear how the website will help people to write well, there is no doubt about the fact that it has not only caught the interest of only amateur writers but also that of eminent writers like Margaret Atwood. Who tested the website and found that her writing bears an apparent similarity with that of Stephen King. The surprised author tweeted “Who Knew?”
