Idea inks Rs.145-crore deal with Firstsource

MUMBAI - Telecom major Idea Cellular Tuesday signed a Rs.145-crore agreement with Firstsource Solutions, a business process outsourcing (BPO) service provider.
As part of the agreement, Firstsource will provide for five years a suite of customer management interaction services, including customer service, billing, new product information and plan details to Idea from its centre in Coimbatore, the companies said in a statement.
Firstsource will provide these services for Idea’s Kerala and Tamil Nadu customers in English, Malayalam and Tamil.
“Firstsource brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in running large customer support operations for global telecom service providers and has the ability to help us manage our rapid growth in the service areas of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, said Navanit Narayan, chief service delivery officer of Idea.
Idea is the largest services provider in Kerala with a subscriber base of over 4.5 million and has recently launched its services in Tamil Nadu. It is expanding its network in the state.
