Are you one of those Telegraph subscribers? You must have known by know that the online website of British UK newspaper Telegraph has been hacked. The proofs in Hackersblog confirm that the site has been hacked by Romanian whitehat hacking group. It also revealed that the hackers have used SQL injection technique to access Telegraph’s database. This is a serious concern with thousands of subscribers’ passwords and personal details compomised. We have seen in the recent past how PHPBB, one of the most important forums for programming related discussions, got hacked. Now, what’s the solution?
Before going to the solution, I would like to focus a bit on the vulnerability associated with the issue. As Rik Ferguson, solutions Architect of Trend Micro, says it’s a real threat, since a majority of people use the same password for multiple accounts. With the user’s name and password available with the hackers the risk still lurks. He suggests a simple outright solution for it and that is to change your password.
So it’s important that you chage your password in order to avoid any further trouble.
