Thomson Reuters to acquire Complinet
NEW YORK — Thomson Reuters Corp. said Thursday it is buying Complinet Ltd., a company that provides information and software designed to help businesses adapt to new government regulations.
The acquisition comes as companies in the financial industry — a core set of customers for Thomson Reuters — face increased government scrutiny in the wake of the banking crisis.
Thomson did not disclose how much it is paying for the privately held company, which is based in London with about 200 employees. It expects to close the deal during the second quarter.
Thomson shares were down 42 cents, or 1.2 percent, to $35.58 in morning trading.
