DETROIT (GaeaTimes.com)- Toyota Motor Corporations have finally been cleared by the federal regulators regarding the sticky gas pedals that had forced the company to cease the sale and even the production of eight of the models of the company. The gas pedals kept getting lodged under the driver’s foot, running the risk of an accident. The production had been stopped in six major production plants. A total of 2.3 million vehicles had been recalled by the automobile manufacturing company. Thankfully, the Toyota Motor Corporations received clearance from the United States federal regulators about the repair of those models.
According to those who had been briefed by the officials of the company on Saturday, Toyota Motor Corporations got cleared by the United States federal regulators about the sticky gas pedal fix. The dealers would be likely to get the replacement parts soon enough. Two of the dealers had been briefed about the matter, but the details of the deal has not yet been notified to the public.
Many of the dealers have commented that the fixing of the accelerator pedals involve putting a shim in the area that helps the gas pedals get back to their original position after the driver eases the accelerator. The spokespersons of the company have not yet commented on the matter. As per one of the spokespersons of the Department of Transportation, the fact that Toyota has been cleared by the United States federal regulators after the sticky gas pedal fix has come as a surprise because the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration does not generally approve of such fixes.
