WASHINGTON (GaeaTimes.com)- The news of Japanese Car giant Toyota recalling a huge number of cars worldwide has made millions of car owners jittery. The carmaker known for the legendary reliability and safety of its various models has come under the scanner for a brake related problem that has forced it to recall a massive number of cars in several countries including USA. According to the latest update, Toyota Motor Corp decided to recall almost 437,000 vehicles worldwide including its much touted Prius hybrid, known as the flagship eco friendly car of the company. It looks like the problem is far from over for the Japanese automaker.

The global car recall is likely to cost Toyota close to $2 billion as the inside reports suggest. While Toyota cars that are being recalled may not have severe problems, the company does not want to take any chances. In what may seem to be an additional problem, the company has been questioned by the NHTSA regarding the safety standard in its Corolla models manufactured in 2009. The model allegedly has a steering problem. However, the NHTSA has not started any Corolla probe, as per the latest update.

It would be wrong to think that Toyota is not doing anything to control the damage caused by the massive recall. On Tuesday, a number of Toyota dealers and Employees went to Capitol Hill to explain what the company is doing to fix the damages and ensure safety in the recalled cars. Akio Toyoda, the president of Toyota said that he would go to USA to attend the hearing, according to the latest Toyota update.
