Who should be next Indian Cricket Team Coach?

Every Tom, Dick, Steve and Harry have an opinion on who should be the next Indian Cricket Team’s coach. So why shouldn’t I?

It is a respected position and it is very high paying. The three top contenders are:
1. Tom Moody - Not much of an ex-player. Got top coach (level 4 whatever) certification in coaching.
2. Greg Chappell - Very good ex-player, very talented. Sharp cricket brain.
3. Mohinder Amarnath - A fighter to the core, was one of the architect of India’s only World Cup win under the captaincy of Kapil Dev.

If media reports are to be believed, Greg Chappell is the leading contender. Apparently he also got an offer from Sri Lanka too.

There is concern that Tom Moody may not garner much respect from a team with renowned players like Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid.

Sourav, the Captain, prefers Greg Chappell.

Personally I think the fight should be between Greg Chappell and Mohinder Amarnath. Greg is more intellectual and Amarnath is a great fighter.

Personally my vote goes to (drumroll) Greg Chappell.
Several reasons:
1. We need a great cricketing brain to strategize better and complement Sourav’s skills.
2. He garners lot of respect from the Captain and other team members.
3. He was an excellent player, a good fighter and a great strategist
4. He could bring in some of Australia’s magic formula in cricket these days

BCCI should aggresively hire him.

But first and foremost the team needs a full-time psychiatrist. It is pathetic watching them crumble everytime the chips are down. If a team cannot defend over 300 runs in one day cricket and that too repeatedly, something is seriously wrong there.

And I am tired of seeing them on TV. I wouldn’t buy Pepsi even if Sachin or the whole Indian team comes begging to my door with a crate full of free Pepsi. It still tastes horrible, to put it politely (add some Hani’s language for taste). I would rather have lemon water with a dash of sugar, thanks.

Update: Greg has been selected to coach the Indian Cricket team.

When ever our indian Cricket team goes abroad for any macth they just loose or win ,wether they win or loose what ever revenue goes is of indian government i.e of our Indian People, why Indian government should spent on them as Cricketers are getting name and fame through adds for which they are getting lumpsum amount.
My Opinion :: If Indian cricket Team losses any match(Series) then what ever revenue it costs for their allocation they should repent it that too double , if indian government passes this RULE then atleast our Indian players will play in fear of loosing Double money than they spent.
