Researchers George Church and colleagues at Harvard Medical School said they had found a faster and cheaper way to sequence your genome (the entire DNA code of a person, plant or other organism) for only about $2.2 million.

Overweight or obese has long been recognized as a risk factor for type 2 diabetes. The results of a new study are clarifying the nature of the link between weight and diabetes. According to a report published today in the Nature, a protein released by fat tissue causes insulin resistance in mice.

Johns Hopkins University Medical School conducted a ten-year epidemiological study that showed exposure to full-spectrum light (including the ultraviolet frequencies) is positively related to the prevention of breast, colon and rectal cancers.

Study conducted by researchers at the University of Scranton suggests that tea might prevent diabetes and its associated complications, including diabetic cataracts.

In September 2004 Elizabeth Loftus of the University of California, Irvine, had shown that elaborate false memories - for instance, of being lost in a shopping mall as a child - can be implanted in people's minds (New Scientist, 6 September 2004, p 42). Subjects even go on to embellish these fictitious events with their own details. Now she has taken a step further - demonstrated creating false memories for behavior modifications like tackling with overweight problems.
