Girl gangraped in a moving car in north-west Delhi

NEW DELHI - Barely three weeks after the rape of a BPO employee in the city, in yet another shocking incident an 18-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped in a moving car in Sultanpuri in north-west Delhi on Saturday night.

The police have so far taken four persons into its custody, including a minor, in connection with the rape case. Three arrested have been charged with abduction, which has been charged of rape.

It has been reported that the girl was on her way to pick up her mother, who works in a factory, when the accused started passing lewd remarks at her near a bus stop, and later following some arguments forced her into the Hyundai Accent car and allegedly gangraped her.

Initial investigations from the police reveal that three of the four arrested fall in the age group of 19-21, while one of them is a minor and will be tried in a juvenile court.

“The accused, all residents of Sultanpuri, then dropped the girl in the same area. She has been sent for medical examination,” said the police.
