The world’s most expensive phone number (666 6666) was auctioned for charity yesterday in Qatar for 10m Qatari riyals or £1.5m.

The auction was organised by Quatar national telco Qtel.

666, while devilish to Christians, is considered holy in Judaism and some equate it with the Arabic word “ellah” meaning God.
