Harris wins $74 million defense contract

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Harris Corp., a communications and information technology company, said Monday it has received $74 million in new orders from the military.

Harris said it will provide handheld radio systems to the U.S. Department of Defense for use in all-terrain vehicles. The contract is an add-on to a $119 million deal announced in January.

Harris last week announced a similar deal to equip the U.S. Marine Corps. and also named Andy Start as president of international business for its RF Communications division, which provides secure radio and surveillance systems for the military and police.
