How to Disable Chatting on Orkut
By Angsuman Chakraborty, Gaea News NetworkMonday, December 15, 2008
We were the first to come out with the chat integration feature of orkut. But almost immediately I realized that it is going to be a big source of irritation for the users. One doesn’t need to have the same thing twice. So we don’t need G Talk twice when its present separately, no? In last couple of weeks we had a number requests where people asked us to help them disable the chat option at orkut. Here is the trick.
- Log in to Orkut. Go to orkut profile or homepage, click settings on the left sidebar.
- Go to the Google Talk/Chat tab.
- Deselect all of the checkboxes next to your groups of friends.
- Click save changes.
- You will never have to deal with anyone to chat at orkut using G-Talk.
Did it work for you? Don’t forget to give us your feedback.
