BANGALORE, INDIA: Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd (IRCTC) and its online reservation system has announced the launch of their beta version for their new website. IRCTC has modified the website so as to make it more user friendly which they feel would ease the process of online reservation for all passengers.

Subir Agrawal who happens to be the director of Consulting for BroadVision, Asia Pacific Region is the one who is responsible for the revamped website of IRCTC. When asked about the beta version of IRCTC website he told the media that they have observed the total number of visitors to the IRCTC website is only 45 percent. IRCTC aims to increase this number and hence the website has been recrafted to ease the process of online ticket booking.

As a matter of fact, the new version of IRCTC website has scrapped of the user login feature and now any traveler can book tickets without having to log in to any account. The IRCTC website imbibes upon the Web 2.0 platform along with Ajax which makes it easy for the developers to include more new features on the website.

The Director also said that the new website of IRCTC won’t require people to enter separate information for train seats, status of availability or fare. The new website is capable of snatching all data from a single request to and from the central server of the system. However, the biggest challenge for IRCTC is to carry on the effective management of ticket booking on the website at the peak hours when the website has been witnessed to freeze down.
