NEW YORK — The following stocks were among those that moved substantially or traded heavily Wednesday on the New York Stock Exchange:

JPMorgan Chase & Co., up $1.50 at $47.16
The bank reported a $3.59 billion profit but also said it doubled the amount of money set aside for failed home and credit-card loans.
Abbott Labs, up $1.55 at $51.20
The North Chicago company beat its own expectations for the third quarter as sales of its drug Humira continued to climb.
Conseco Inc., up $1.47 at $6.46
The insurer announced measures to significantly strengthen its balance sheet, including an investment from a prominent hedge fund.
Harley-Davidson Inc., up $1.62 at $26.26
An analyst upgraded the motorcycle giant to “outperform” from “market perform” on stabilizing used bike prices.
Computer Sciences Corp., up $1.67 at $54.39
Goldman Sachs upgraded the information technology company on growing corporate demand for its consulting and outsourcing services.
Blackstone Group LP, up $1.21 at $17.11
