Maytas defers Q4 financial results
By IANSWednesday, January 21, 2009
HYDERABAD - Maytas Infra Limited, promoted by the family of disgraced Satyam Computer Services founder B. Ramalinga Raju, Thursday sought extension of time to announce the financial results for Oct-Dec 2008 quarter as its account books are being inspected by Registrar of Companies and the Serious Fraud Investigation Office.
‘During the course of inspection of the books of accounts of the company, inspectors have sought for certain information and documents relating to the last eight financial years,’ Maytas said in a letter to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
‘All our accounts team members have been fully occupied for the last over two weeks in compiling the required information, which is quite huge in content and to be provided in different formats as prescribed by the officials.’
‘Hence the company is not able to close accounts and compile financial statements for the quarter ended Dec 31, 2008,’ said the letter, signed by Maytas Infra vice chairman B. Teja Raju, son of Ramalinga Raju.
This will be done ‘within one month on completion of inspection by the authorities’, it said.
Jan 31 is the last day for coming out with the previous quarter results.
